anoushka3005
Hiya, I'm hoping someone can help - I have three hens who have an Eglu classic with a run within a WIR in my garden. Over the last few weeks we've noticed that we've had fewer and fewer eggs, and this has coincided with two of the hens losing their bum feathers. We've never seen actual bullying/pecking but it's obviously going on. Yesterday I spotted that Goldfinger had been pecked on her hip so went out this morning to check on her. She's sat in the nest box breathing oddly - sort of wheezing, though no runny nose or eyes, plus her face is a sort of purple/red rather than it's proper red. So, two things really, if she's ill, what might it be? Or could it be a symptom of increased bullying? Thanks!

anoushka3005
Thanks Plum. I decided to take her to the vet as I was going away for the weekend, and didn't want to wait until Monday. Sadly the vet recommended putting her down as it was some kind of advanced pneumonia. V sad, though on the bright side, the remaining two chickens seem fine!
