Henergy
Well we came home with two new hens (although wish now it was 3 !!!! should have picked up the light Sussex too for a bit of colour contrast ). We got a Speckeldy Maran for her chestnut eggs and a Devon Rock for her great hairdo & apparently green eggs. However, I've come home & googled the breed & can find nothing about them - does anyone know anything or indeed have any ? She's much smaller & I assumed it was because she was maybe younger but now wonder if its a small breed. (I should have asked at the farm but took 3 children & husband which meant all questions were forgotten !
surfer_chicken
I haven't heard of them myself- but got this doing a quick search http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=50715 Ignore the first bit- they start talking about Devon Rocks a few posts down. The eggs look lovely
Redwing
What colour is the hen? Was she sold as a hybrid? There are no hybrids guaranteed to lay a green egg and a Devon Rock isnt a pure breed. If she has a hairdo and lays green eggs she could be a Columbine (which is a hybrid that has an 80% chance of laying blue or green eggs) Lots of the 'rock' hybrids have invented names to try to 'attach' themselves to the wonderful Black Rock which is a fab hybrid and much more robust than other hybrids, the 'copies' are usually black chickens with brown feathers around their necks and on their front though and none of those lay a green egg The other option is that your hen is a crossbreed involving a Cream Legbar or Araucana Whatever she is congratulations on your new chooks

Redwing
Wow she is a very pretty little hen Looking at the hint of a beard I'd say she has some Araucana in there somewhere, probably a cross breed rather than a commercial type hybrid It will be interesting to see what colour eggs she does lay, if she is a crossbreed then this is more predicatable than with hybrids, she probably has one parent from a brown egg laying breed and one from a blue egg laying breed hence the prediction for green eggs
