lillybettybabs
Well my little babies are due to hatch on the 10th, I'm a bag of nerves. I've had dreams that i have cooked them in the incubator, Another dream that they were all born without legs! I can't sleep with worry. I've orderd their feed, grit etc, I'll be clean out a dog crate this weekend and putting a layer of cardboard are the sides. The incubator is on countdown and i'm a bag of nerves. Is it always like this for your first hatch?
Tweety
I hatched for the first time in April, and was just as worried as you are! It sounds as if you have got everything ready though and, as long as you are prepared for the fact that some of the chicks might not make it for whatever reason, you will be fine! It is a wonderful experience, and you will love your little chicks. Just have the camera ready!

Kirstie
Ha ha you sound like me! I hatched my first eggs 4 weeks ago and I was worrying none would hatch as I couldn't really see anything when candling - just a black blob which I assumed was right but it looked nothing like everyone else's! Then on pipping day it started and then a full day on nothing else had happened! Anyway after lots and lots of stressing I had 6 out of the 6 hatch (with one needing help - now that was sooooooooo stressful! But luckily after a day of helping it slowly and by panic writing on the forum and also watching a utube video on how to help it out i have a healthy chick!) I said NEVER again as it was worse then having children! BUT now I am 4 weeks on and have my 6 lovely chicks I can honestly say I would do it again - I'm not sure if I'd had a different outcome whether I'd feel the same (prob would though) What I will say is if you have any queries come on here - everyone is helpful and quick to answer - which is sometimes what you need ! Oh and make sure your humidity is up up up at pipping stage as that's prob why I had a stuck chick! As once I'd stuck a warm, wet cloth in all the others hatched with no issue x Wishing you loads of luck x you will enjoy xxx keep us posted on how it goes xx Kirstie x
lillybettybabs
Candled the remaining 5 eggs, 4 moved away from the light but the 5th i'm not sure about. Veins still there on the 5th one but i didn't see it move but OH was holding the egg and said he thought he felt something move. I'll be chuffed if i do get four out of the six anyway. lillybettybabs
lavender araucanas, The four we predicted to hatch have now hatched. Number five isn't looking hopefully but four out of six isn't bad.
sjp
well done I've had at least one hatch to day but it could be 2. 1 little black fluff ball confirmed more than likely a boy but I think I saw a yellow one as well

lillybettybabs
We sadly lost number four during the night, It did seem the weakest one. Other three a chirping away in the brooder.
