Just got my eglu set up all ready for my new arrivals hopefully in 2 weeks time. My question is, until I manage to save for a clear cover for the run, I have put a few shades over so it's completely covered as I want to put aubiose down. Do you think this will be too dark? The spot they will be in doesn't get much sun anyway but it is very sheltered.

I wouldn't completely stop them getting sun, they need sunlight to lay eggs.

whilst you save up for a longer-term transparent tarpaulin (and I'd recommend Tarpaflex ones) you could get a really cheap shower curtains for a few pounds only from IKEA, Tesco etc that would be opaque (Tesco's one is anyway) or might even be clear, that would do the job in the summer months as a short term measure. I think you will want some light in the run both for their benefit and so you can see them of course !!

My cube run is virtually covered down the sides with green plastic to keep the rain out and the sun off. There is clear corrugated plastic on the top. But the girls are allowed to free range during the day and only get put in the run with their tea before beddybies.
