Sam
Hi. Not sure what one my chicken has. Her crop has been really hard recently and didn't empty over night which made me think impacted crop. Have been syringing olive oil into her beak and massaging the crop, and just did it again and her crop felt a lot softer. Also, does this have anything to do with really watery droppings? Her feathers behind are covered and matted (wormed recently)
The Dogmother
I'd give her awash to avert flystrike then carry on with the oil/massage/maggots routine. Withdraw any food for 36 hours and syringe feed her with water containing some Avipro or NutriDrops.
Sam
Thanks, will give that a go. Washed her earlier and she was ever so calm about it and just stood there when I used the hair dryer on her, so I decided to give my white chicken a wash... I got absolutely soaked, she flapped and flapped and sprayed water all up my shorts and t-shirt. Won't be washing her again
