Donna C
Hi guys, as the title says my girls just arn't eating their grain. I watched for a few weeks, then changed to ex-batts pellets. They eat a bit if i mix it with water and they get no treats now. I have two orps and they just won't eat the grain although will eat corn, worms etc. They have been wormed. I would love for them to come running out in the morning and get stuck in but they don't they just scratch around Any advice would be great. Many thanks Donna
lindafw
Mine are took ages to eat layers pellets..they free range and much prefer to eat what they find....I started to scatter feet pellets first thing in the morning with their treat of soaked bread with poultry spice...I mixed layers in with it at the start and dropped the gloopy bits at my feet. I think its the movement they like!! Hope this makes sense! They now hurtle down the garden and I just give them a tiny bit of bread and the pellets are in a feeder..seams to work but took a long while
LunaKiw1
Our first two chooks happily ate layers pellets from the start but our new three won't. Eventually I bought some layers mash which has bokashi pre-mixed in and now they wolf their food down. They are so different from the others who used to love all sorts of treats - the new three adore corn (not sweet corn) but won't so much as look at anything else like grapes or cucumber or melon or porridge or anything else!
