Settling advice please for a newbie!

Recommended Posts

Hello all

I got my bantams yesterday and am a little concerned that the head chook Pippin is keeping the other two scared stiff in the Eglu. They don't dare venture out even if Pippin just looks at them! Think they have had food and some water today but they seem to have been inside most of the day except when Pippin was laying. Whenever I go outside I only see Pippin scratching around and the others cowering inside. Is this normal? They went to bed fine last night and no squabbles. Feel sorry for them really and really want to let them out to free range a bit but I know they need to know where they live first. Sorry for the all the questions!

Hiya

Pippin is still being a bit of a bully. She had a right go at Henrietta again today. She has given us 2 eggs since Friday so mate its got something to do with the fact the other 2 aren't laying yet? I have let them into an extended run today and they were ok with that although she is the most wary of me! Hopefully once I tame them they will settle down a bit when they can free-range a bit. Thanks for asking!
