Daphne Posted September 12, 2011 Share Posted September 12, 2011 I wouldn't - especially looking outside today I expect the broody will be wanting to go into moult soonish and really the winter time is to let everybody have a break. The chicks will have to use up more energy keeping warm and dry as will Mum. miller30 Posted September 12, 2011 Share Posted September 12, 2011 Hi my buff orp grandma is broody i have tried breaking her and nothing is working she is a brilliant broody every year she was broody back in may but she lost her babies and i think is determined to have babies this year so i think im gonna give in and let her sit id rather she didnt as it is late in the year but i have an indoor house and pens protected from the weather plus i know a few people whos chickens have had babies in the snow and have been ok leanne Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
