Hellooo a random question (re council permission)

Recommended Posts

Helloooo everyone, first of all I'm sorry I haven't been on in a while. Hectic chaos I think is how I will describe this last year.

Anyway my random question is this... Did anyone in Buckinghamshire have to ask the council before they got any chickens? I am newly engaged you see and my other half lives in buckinghamshire so I am going to have to move down there however I still want to have my chooks sooo I was just wondering if i needed permission or something? I'll ask any neighbours if they have any issues though just in case.

Many thanks everyone.

I live in Flackwell Heath Bucks and I live in a terrace house with a small garden ..I have 3 lovely chickens and no we did not need permission. The only thing was NO cockerals in a residential area...I wonder why  I don't know if it changes from town to town but I don't think so.What part of Bucks :?: Good luck :)

We live about 8 miles out of Aylesbury, but still covered by Aylesbury Vale District Council. I rang the council enviromental office to check that keeping chooks was OK - and was told that as long as I don't start a business with them and just have "backyard chooks" then the council don't care. Obviously consideration needs to be given to your neighbours and that is why we haven't bought a cockerel yet!!!!
