Hi all. Silly question, but I'm raising my first chickens who are coming up for eight weeks old now. I'm struggling to tell them apart and have got some leg rings but would be grateful for advice on the best age to put these on. Also, they feel like they would reall hurt when you slide them on - do they???

I put mine on almost immediately as couldn't tell them apart. have lost 2 hens and have put leg rings on Eglu as a memorial to them. Pets at home do a bag and obviusly Omlet sell them. Depends how quick you want them.I had to write who had what colour as when they were on I still couldnt remember who had what colour. I remembered Bathsheba (RIP) as orange (BO!!!) . the others I managed to get my head round.

Another point to add is get 2 rings of each colour, because if you only put 1 on they always lift up that leg and hide it in their feathers
