Well that's it! Ordered the Omlet 2m WIR with a 1m extension to go with our cube & run.

 

Decided on slab extension to keep with our current routine of slabs, aubiose & periodic cleanout. The garden's really benefitted from the soil improvement.

 

Should arrive Thursday so will be looking at initial construction at the weekend to check it over. Re-siting the set-up will take longer & we've just got 2 newbies to consider too!

Will do the pics. Probably will take a couple of weeks as we need the time to plan exactly where we want the run (trying to consider a greenhouse nearby if possible but will have to be small).

Yay!!

 

We are about to start on the total revamp of the bottom of the garden and base for the WIR!!

 

The run arrived on Thursday with 2 poles missing (broken box), but quick e-mail to Omlet (Thursday night) got an immediate response & the poles arrived by express Parcel Force at 8.30am this morning. No harm done

 

Thought we might try a video clip (first attempt) at the end to show it working. Has anyone else done this?

 

Will update on a new thread as we achieve this new stage in the "world of chicken keeping"

Would enjoy seeing a video to compare it with our experience of erecting an Omlet WIR. Probably best to edit it for sound before posting on here as you may need a few expletives deleted!! Good luck - you'll love it once it is up.
