Distracting hens

Recommended Posts

I had such a laugh yesterday when I was sitting outside supervising some FR time. A friend called and as we were trying to make plans to meet up first one, then two, then all three hens jumped on my lap, clucking and chirping away  Now these are not fluffy little bantams, mind you, but substantial hybrids - Belle in particular is pretty weighty ( :shh: Don't tell her I said that). I was all "ooh" and "aaiii" and "eeek" and finally just laughing out loud as my friend was saying "Chickens! I hear chickens!" and I was trying to make sure they didn't slip off my lap while not dropping my phone. They eventually flapped away in disgust, with no treats forthcoming.

I then noticed a neighbour goggling over, from a balcony next door  Hehehe. Mad chicken lady next door, that's me

I'm the other mad chicken lady..My neighbour thinks I make more noise chatting to my girls than the girls make them selves

I just opened my back door ..up they rushed chatting away... To each other and me .They sounded as if they had all the gossip of the day . My OH said that they were telling tales out of school as he had just taken a pot shot at a pidgeon :)
