Totally forgotten I had planted them & have just discovered 2 huge,beautiful Squashes,but does anyone know how to tell when they are ripe,please?

They change colour from green to pale orangy beige, you then need to taken them off the plant and leave them in the sun for a couple of day to let the skin harden. I have 2 decent sized ones this year too which should finally ripen with this good weather. I have had a poor few years with them but one year I had masses.

They are a nice golden orange,and much bigger than the ones at work!

Will snip them and leave them in the sun for the next couple of days.

 

Odd how they have thrived,but my pumpkin was a disaster even though the squashes were forgotten about and neglected.
