'Flu Jab

Recommended Posts

Hi Omleteers, I'm after picking the brains of the medical Omleteers here goes:

LMW is at boarding school and we have been advised that they would like all the kids to be jabbed against 'flu whilst at school (it would be done at school in their health centre). This does seem sensible as 'flu would go round the school like wildfire but I have some concerns.

Both myself and Mr W are allergic to eggs (daft I know seeing as we have chickens) and LMW has only ever eaten egg twice ( other than in the form of pancakes /cake etc) she hasn't had a reaction to egg on those occaisons. But I'm worried that as I wouldn't be there to watch over her ( the MMR jab ended up with LMW and I sat under the watchful eye of various medics for nearly an hour after the jab due to the uncertainity over whether she would have a reaction).

What is the current guidance? Some advice would be most welcome. I've read stuff on the internet but most of the sites seem to be American.

I should add LMW is a very healthy young lady.

Thank you
