Sheilaz
Just a light hearted topic, starting with this one; Friday night treat , Esther watched "Airline" with me before bed. It had already started when I sat down, and was sorry to hear that; "Mum, you missed the bit with people just like you who have chickens!" "How do you know they had chickens, did they talk about them?" "No, but they all had pictures of them on their T.shirts" "Not Omlet T.Shirts!?" "No, just pictures. They had bunny ears too I don't know why" Well, in the 2nd half, they showed the Hen Party, setting off for a boozy night out somewhere! People just like me? I haven't been on a hen night for 25 years. I'd much rather go to a real Omlet Hen Party. Didn't bother explaining that one....
Guest
That's lovely! Can't think of any recent ones at the moment, but I felt so bad when I told my eldest many years ago to 'pull her socks up' and she bent down to do as she was told; and I felt even worse when I called her 'Big Ears' (meaning she was listening in to my conversation) and she asked me if she really had big ears. Guest
And Sheila, I have a daughter called Esther too!
Cate in NZ
I do love the things that children say sometimes, and the way that they, in their innocence, can sometimes get hold of the wrong end of the stick entirely. That said I can't think of a single example from my family at the moment, although I know there have been plenty.
SarahJo
thats funny . At least she is still innocent about things, soon it will be her at the check in wearing an appropriate(or not) t-shirt.
Mrs Frugal
Bless Esther's heart! That's lovely Sheila. I was half listening to the programme while working on the computer and I shot round to look at the TV when they said the "hens were getting on the plane"! I was very disappointed when they weren't the feathered variety!
Crooked Chicken
That's so sweet Sheila. I said to my Ben the other day how proud I was of him, because he helped me make some cakes. He turned round and said, and I'm proud of you too. Why Ben? Because you're the perfect mummy. He's 3. That's my boy.
Mrs Frugal
Ahhhhhhhhh, that is so sweet ! Don't you just want to hug them to bits when they say gorgeous things like that. Bless
Cate in NZ
How lovely Sue, they are so gorgeous at that age. Ben sounds like a complete darling, helping in the kitchen and saying lovely things too
Crooked Chicken
Has his moments though ................ The other day both he and his 1.5 yr old brother Josh were being sooooo noisy in the garden that I had to bring them in the house. Ben shouted at me "why are we in the house now?". I said because you're both being too noisy and you're still being noisy. His answer was (again, in a shout), well shut the windows then!!! I remind you again - HE'S THREE. God help me when they're teenagers......
Mel (& Paul)
Now, until I read that last post I was ALMOST tempted to have children They do come out with the funniest things though - shame we cant remain that "innocent" for long
Chunkin
I have 3 teenagers - only consolation is they'll be leaving home soon Of course I don't really mean that... When I was expecting my third, my younger daughter was asked what she wanted the new addition to be; a boy or a girl. She answered in a very serious and disappointed voice that she really hoped it would be a rabbit but thought it would probably be a baby Just as well - I'm allergic to rabbits!
