thegamwellsmythes
Our lovely new chicken (Fried) has now laid 3 eggs inside eggs. We get a huge (must smart!)egg that has it's own yolk inside but also another normal sized egg within it. Has anyone else ever seen this? She lays normal eggs most of the time but we've had three now in about 10 weeks Jane

Ain't Nobody Here
Wow . I gather it's quite unusual but I would think laying more than one even more unusual . She must have an occasional blip in her egg laying process!
thegamwellsmythes
We had another at the weekend. The outside egg broke on the way out to reveal another lovely egg in among the eggy mess. Poor girl, the outside egg is normally huge. Ouch!

thegamwellsmythes
That is exactly what we get. Very odd. The big exterior egg is normally very thin and sometimes breaks on the way out. Both eggs have a yolk.
