Got One !!!!

Recommended Posts

Yippee I've got my (white chicken) at long last.

Went to the auction today to see if I could find Brillo a silkie friend to live with her and the Twitter Sisters. Anyway all the silkies there were a bit big (she's only a miniature) and I was too tight fisted to go over £22 for a Pilkie, even though it was a very pretty white with lacing. I was successful with a birchen modern game bantam. So to keep her company I got 2 more, 1 black and a WHITE one, (she has some black smuts so not a total white). So they are going to be the known as the Twiglets.

They weren't impressed with each other though.

if you bought at auction then i would very seriously stick to the separate for a fortnight rule. The newbies could be carrying some nasty bugs that they'll need to get out of their systems before you mix with your own girl.

I do love a modern game bantam so am very jealous!

Yes the newbies are separated from their coopmates.

I was in the bantam isle too, there always seemed to be that very tall man in front of me. I did sit on the railings in order to be seen bidding and nearly got pushed in a pen when there was a stamped to change sides. That was me eating chips and making the people round me hungry!!

They'll be going in a covered WIR, it used to be a lean to green house, (the (pink eglu) is inside it) and there are clear glass tarps round the sides, a concrete floor with horse bedding to forage in. If it's really cold there are empty rabbit hutches (hospital/isolation) in the green house, their current home. I've also just bought one of those snuggle safe things that you microwave and it keeps warm for up to 10 hours to go in the eglu. So in theory the banties shouldn't get wet or windswept (fingers crossed).

The Twiglets are sweet little birds can't imagine what size egg they'd do, surely only quail sized?
