Mincepies
I've been breeding from my small flock this year and have raised lots of delightful chicks. One hen, who is now about three months old, was born with her face slightly squashed. This wasn't really noticeable at first but is more so now, as her beak quite definitely twists to one side. She seems happy and healthy, is able to eat, and is growing/developing normally. Does anyone know if the twisted beak is likely to become problematic as she grows bigger? Many thanks! Redwing
If the top and bottom meet ok then she will be fine Dont breed from her though!
The Dogmother
Agreed - I have one of those, she requires twice yearly beak trims but is otherwise fine and healthy.
