auntielizzie Posted November 13, 2011 Share Posted November 13, 2011 Bessie has been moulting since around Mon 26 September (ish) . Its now been about 7 weeks and I think she has nearly finished at long last! Her head and neck have feathered up nicely again. She has a new tail (not quite as long as it was before - yet). Fluffy knickers and petticoats are looking much much better. All in all she's looking rather good now , although she hasn't yet got her full sussex necklace back. Still a few feathers still falling, but not so many. Only thing now is that her wattles and comb are still rather pale and she's not started laying again yet. Presume that will right itself in good time. She is starting to look her beautiful self again and she seems to have perked up in herself too as she was a bit grumpy I think and wouldn't let me near her. She even tolerates me picking her up now without all the squawking and clucking and grumbling (she's never really been over-keen to be picked up, whereas Betty seems to quite like it).
