Twilight in a nutshell

Recommended Posts

I promised I'd go and see the latest Twilight film with a friend tonight, but I've only read the first book (and that was ages ago!).

Are there any Twilight fans out there who can give me an ultra quick update of the plot so far so I have some sort of idea of what might be going on!!! :?

I know there is a rather gory birth at some point.

Thank you

Girl meets boy...boy is a vampire, lives with vampire family... But they are good... Only eat animals not people.

Girl and boy fall in love.... Girls male friend gets jealous, he loves girl... The friend is a Warewolf in a pack.

Warewolves and vampires are sworn enemies, but have a kind of truce providing the vampires don't eat people or make more vampires.

Girl doesn't want to grow old, as boy will never grow old, boy agrees to turn girl into a vampire if she marries him.

Friend very angry at this.

Hows that?

Brilliant :P

Would add that the good Vampire family are under threat from both the higher Vampire council & a rogue Vampire group,& have teamed up with the Werewolves to fight against them & continue their hitherto peaceful small town existence.

Girl & Vampires relationship as yet unconsummated.......

Girl has snogged both the vampire boy & the Werewolf boy

Excellent. Thank you everyone. :)

Just seen film and bits from the first book came back to me and snippets DD had told me when she was reading the books. Thoroughly enjoyed the film (even though I laughed out loud at bit I probably shouldn't have laughed at! ). Think I ought to read the rest of Breaking Dawn in preparation for the next film. :)

My daughter-13- sent this to me a while ago, and it makes me laugh.Don't click the link if you are offended by humour..its the Oatmea,l not offensive, but may offend you if you are sensitive It's no worse than anything you'll see on that Appollo program....http://theoatmeal.com/story/twilight

I'm not a big Twilight fan on grounds of philosophy....it's desperately unhealthy set of books for young women to read, at a time when they might be feeling a bit...suggestible.When I first read them ( to check if they were ok for my youngest), I was really annoyed how anti-women they are. I've read a great critique in which the character of Edward Cullen can be read as an abusive partner, and Bella Swann as a weak and cowed victim. ( He creeps into her room and watches her sleep , she apologises constantly for having emotions, she thinks EVERYTHING is her fault, he tells her who she can be friends with....I could go on..but I can tell I'm ranting  ) I let my girls read them, but followed that up with a healthy dose of realism. The acting is atrocious too.....yet we own all the dvd;s released thus far  Rant over.....hope I've not offended anyone...just my humble point of view......and yes, I have received a request from my youngest to take her to see Breaking Dawn. She's Team Jacob... :silenced:
