The Dogmother
You can always give her the NetTex tonic instead - I am pretty sure that it's very similar to Nutridrops
GillC
Sadly Daphne took a turn for the worse. Yesterday she tottered out with one wing held low and very hunched. I watched her all day and gave her more tonic, but she was definitely not well. Today I took her to the vet and didn't bring her back. The car journey (about 10 minutes) really exhausted her and by the time we got to the vets she was very listless. She had developed diarrhoea, was very pale and looked really bad. No firm conclusion about what the cause was, but she was in such a bad state that I decided the time had come. My vet does see chickens, but is not a chicken specialist. The nearest specialist is over 30 minutes drive away and I don't think Daphne would have managed that. Now I have one solitary bantam wyandotte all alone in an eglu and four medium hybrids in the other one with the big run. I wonder what would be best - to get a companion for Agatha, or to risk putting her in with the others. I don't feel right keeping her on her own especially in recent cold temperatures. Any advice would be welcome
lindafw
you could always pop her in overnight and then remove next day for a bit
