ali-s
Does any one make their own candles? I would like to learn a new craft in the new year, I love candles so I thought this would be a ideal craft for me. I would like recommendations on the best on line sites for supplies and equipment and also books on the subject. Thanks in advance
Couperwife
me I bought soya wax and poured it into re-claimed china cups its really easy. you can colour candles with wax crayons, but i prefer the natural ones you can also add essential oils to them too. I got the stuff from full moons cauldron you can buy sets that include everything or just the bits you want hope this is helpful cathy x
ali-s
Thanks Cathy, I will look at that site later. Did you use a double boiler to melt the wax? I have been looking round the internet and one site said you needed quite a few pieces of equipment, double boilers, thermometers, moulds, racks to hang up candles to dry etc. I have just started collecting chamber sticks, mostly bought from charity shops. I found two more yesterday on a charity shelf in the village post office, I did a whoop of delight out loud when I saw them With these in mind I would like to make a dinner candle shaped candle so guess I would need a mould.
