geb0205
my little sussex bantie is moulting so it seems. Is it normal for them to moult at this time of year? I have noticed in the last couple of weeks her comb is flopping more than normal, yet she is still red. she is ok in her normal self, but is a bit quiet. Can I assume this is normal because she is moulting? She is eating and drinking ok, and certainly told me off well last night when I shut her in the run! The Dogmother
Sure sounds like a moult. One of mine is dropping feathers at the moment too. Make sure that she gets plenty of protein (mealworms or tuna) to help her grow new ones. Poultry Tonic in the water helps too.
geb0205
Thanks Claret. They both eat a good helping of mealworms (dried) daily and break into the kitchen and steal cat food at every oppertunity, so they are not short of protein... Little darlings have just eaten all my radish seedlings too.....
