Cranberry
I finally seem to be on top of the mite problem. My girls are much happier and clean. I used a smoke bomb in the house and a spry on the hens. They don't seem to have read the handbook on egg production. They have not stopped laying through all this stress. Last night when I locked up I took 3 eggs. This moring it was -4c and there were 8 eggs thats out of 24 and two were new. Sadly out of two hatches of blue egg aracarna x only one seens to lay blue but then they are usually spring summer layers. Anyway I hope they don't realise they've got it upside down and stop laying for the spring!!
Olly
Obviously your hens haven't read that chapter! Well done on sorting the mites out.

BizzyMomma
Great news re the mites!!! As for stress, well I guess it depends on what your girls class as being stressful really, obviously you have been very sympathetic handling the mites in their opinion!
