jjmack
Hi, off to Rome in May for a weekend and looking for hotel recommendations. Don't really know where to start. It is for my 40th and am going with OH and 4 couples. Want 3 or 4 star and don't want to spend much more that £150 per couple per night - pref less! Any one got any experience/ ideas? Grateful for any any guidance. Thanks J
LolaLayla
About 5 years ago I stayed with a friend and our DD's at Hotel Traiano. The rooms were very small and we had to be moved to another one as it was really a tight squeeze to get past the basin to use the loo However the location of the hotel was ideal so I would recommend a hotel in that area. jjmack
Thanks that a good starting point and will certainly look around that area. Now we have to decide on 2 or 3 nights, hotel or apartment, food or no food!!!!! i am not even supposed to be involved in booking this as OH was supposed to be doing it, but .................... LolaLayla
My friend had been to this hotel before and chose it because it is very near the forum and the Colosseum. We were so lucky when we were there as there was a free open air concert in front of the Colosseum with Bryan Adams and Billy Joel. So amazing. Our DD's were a bit embarrassed as we were singing along to the songs. We also went on a bus tour to see the sights. Most places of interest are not far away. I think we took a taxi to St Peters where there was a huge queue to get in. The same applied to the Sistine Chapel. I really loved it, you will have such fun
jjmack
Hurrah, it is booked! We are going for 3 nights and have booked a really nice hotel. Now just got to start learning a bit of italian and find some nice restaurants and plan what we have to see!
LolaLayla
Great. The sight seeing bus tour is good as it includes most things.
