coco
I have just looked out of my upstairs window to see a huge fox in the field behind our back garden, it just goes to prove that even though you may not see a fox they are always there. We have lived here 17 years and this is the third time I have seen one. The girls are in the front garden to the side or the house and luckily I always lock them up at night. I'm hoping there is enough food in the fields so he doesn't come looking any closer.
majuka
Your post is a good reminder to be vigilant. We've lived here for 6 years and never seen a fox. As you say, doesn't mean that they are not around though....
Olly
If you live in a rural or semi-rural area, you may not see them - they tend to be more wary of humans. Urban foxes on the other hand are as bold as brass, and can often be seen in daylight. I haven't actually seen one in the garden for ages, but I can smell fox every time I go up to the chicken run, so I know one's been hanging around. Never drop your guard.
