3.6m Omlet Chicken Run for sale, Brand New in Boxes, Milton Keynes (MK19)

I was playing ball with the dog in the garden this afternoon, as I do almost daily...in the rain... and her ball went between a fence-type-thing which is a little 'hole in the wall' at the back of our garage. This regularly happens too and I then go and remove the fence-type-thing for the dog to collect the ball.

 

And for some reason today I thought it may be a nice area for 'posh' new chickens which require good shelter. With this thought in mind I grabbed the camera.

Yay. 1 vote for good thought so far.

 

Now more thoughts are needed about how to position an Eglu conveniently to open/collect eggs and to allow light into 'hole in wall'.

 

I realise a complete clear out in there will be fun!.... What you can't see in the pictures is that the top of this space isn't tall enough for an adult to stand.

That looks like a really useful area. I am sure someone will have good ideas as to how to utilise it most effectively I don't like my girls getting too wet. I gave them a little dry off with paper towel before they settled down this evening. I am sure Lola and Layla are a bit peeved about the special attention my "posh" ladies get

I think keeping 'posh' girls is going to be a different experience for me.... But can't wait either.

 

Having thought about it, new ladies won't be very visible in there. So after all of my excitement and photo-taking, it seems it is a no no. It'll be a bit of a faff to build doors/tables etc. and, although new girls would be lovely and dry, they won't be visible, and pretty ladies should be seen.

 

I think it's back to the original plan of the wood chipped area.

You will probably think of something to use it for You will want to be able to see them. I kept mine in their run yesterday as it was terribly wet. It is very well covered so that they were nice and dry although complaining a bit as they love the garden now. Today wasn't quite so bad so they were allowed out

I may try using it as the naughty are/time out for OH.

Your ladies are lucky, it's been drizzling with rain here all day today. We've not had dry weather for a few days either. I'll cover the run to keep the little darlings dry so they should be okay anyway.

Poor OH Dry here at the moment so all are out. Our climate it rather wet too I noticed in the paper that there is a drought in parts of England but not Wales and Scotland. Infact there has been talk of water being piped down to the south from here). We certainly get enough of the stuff

It is nice to see the girls free ranging together and saw the Silkies go up to the water dish outside while Lola was there. They were about 2' apart but Lola did not chase them away which is great news however they were not brave enough to drink the water with her there. Up until now the 2 pairs have not got nearer that 5' from each other so things are progressing well with the integration. They are still not in the one eglu.

Any news yet? This is like having an "expectant" friend about to produce

Yes, I'd heard that it's meant to be a drought in parts of England. Well we have more than enough to share! I've been slipping and slidding in mud this evening turning the horses out.

That's great news about Lola and your Silkies. I suppose it all just takes time. Snowy was a right bossy-horrible-so-and-so for a few weeks to the other two. And they were newbies together and all hybrids. I know your plan.... those 4 in a new cube and then 2 spare eglus to refil.

If I produce chickens I will be more than shocked and stunned! I'm expecting news this weekend. I will be sure to post/bore as soon as I have news. Had a busy day in work today and the thought of new ladies really cheered me up.
