I received an email from eBay last night. It claimed to be from someone who had bought something from me but had not received it. The links lead to what looked like and eBay page requiring my log in. Alarm bells rang because I was logged in on another screen so shouldn't have needed to log in. The item number was bogus as was the user - the user name is in use on eBay but they have a different feedback score. I will pass the details on to eBay but watch out if you are an eBay user as there may be a flood of these being sent out. Whilst the email look completely authentic with all the logos etc closer examinations shows the sender address to be eBoy not eBay.

Thanks CM, there's also a rash of fake PayPal ones doing the rounds - telling you that there's money in your account. I knew that there wasn't, so ignored it.

Just spoke to eBay and have forwarded it to spoof@ebay.com
