Unsecure chicken perches

For years I have ordered my seed potatoes, shallots, onions and garlic from T & M; I order end Jan they arrive mid Feb. This year I ordered as normal but nothing has arrived - just rang them and they said "it's a bit delayed this year, they will be sent out in a couple of weeks". This has made me really cross as I keep records of all my planting and last year my garlic and shallots were in modules in my polytunnel by mid Feb, and my potatoes were chitting by the end of Feb ready for planting early April, this year I will be lucky to even have these by the end of March which is particularly annoying with the nice weather we've been having.

the spuds will be ok you'll still be able to plant out early April not been able to chit them won't a a problem none of my spuds will be chitted never do chit either and I'll start planting them the weekend if not tomorrow and I'll be looking to start lifting the earlies in about 10 weeks

I'm in a huff with them too. Bought Gardeners World magazine which said 48 free petunias ( plug plants). Went on the web to order them & the code doesn't work. It also says they are sold out. Surely an alternative should be offered , or some seeds at least? I'm not impressed!

It may be cheaper to ring Thompson & Morgan on 01473 695200 depending how you pay for your phone calls.

 

I spoke to them this morning and although they offered an explanation for the delay in garlic, potatoes, shallots etc this still does not recover all the growing time I have lost.
