Chicken boarders

Last November Fran was VERY poorly with a compacted crop, We flushed out sticks, elastic bands and

lots of grass roots.

Now the grass is growing id like to let them on to the grass in the run (they are wintered on bedmax).

I obviously need to take Measures in stopping Fran the Evil from digging the grass roots up and making herself

poorly. Can anyone recommend a good size wire mesh that we could put underneath, Big enough so the poops

don't get clogged up into it but with stop Fran the Evil from digging?

Have you looked at the one Omlet make to stop rabbits digging. I bought a section of the mesh to stop our lop digging. She could have dug for Britain It certainly stopped her however it does not cover a very large area. It may also need to be buried a little bit to stop tripping

Karen, I am about to lay some lawn mesh bought directly from these folks in Coventry.

 

 

I have two rolls and just need to find the time to mesh the lawn area. My problem is that the hens make a small dust bath (despite having a lovely one in their run!) and then the dogs decide to enlarge it The grass will re-grow but I plan to reseed and cover with topsoil to encourage it while the little cluckers are kept in the run for a bit. I daresay that we will have plenty of off-cuts if you want any but I can't guarantee that it will be immediate as I need a day clear to get it done..... having said that, if Phil is up this weekend then we'll try to do it on Sunday.

I looked at that first but it would cost a lot to cover and cube run with extension.
