Lavenders_Blue
Oops! Not too painful I hope. Dylan sounds like a real sweetie.

Lavenders_Blue
LBB, just wondered whether you had started running with Dylan or not and how you got on? Hubby took Tango jogging with him last night for the first time and she LOVED it. He started off running round our village sports field so that she could be off the lead and set her own pace, but he was rather thwarted by the local football team practising and Tango trying to run over to steal the ball So he ended up clipping her lead on and running a couple of miles loop round the village. A few stops for sniffs and wees but she trotted along very nicely beside him (after setting off pulling like a husky ). When they returned home, hubby was puffing, panting and bright red, Tango ran in, had a quick drink and then decided to zoom up and down the hall. I think that went well then! The Dogmother
That's good to hear; she'll be raring to go out with him every evening now! I've given up running due to various injuries but Rose now does a 2-3 mile run most evenings. I am trying to encourage her to take one or other of the dogs but she's come up with various excuses. lillybettybabs
We have a slight human problem at the moment (my knee and calve) we did get to a stage of running cross country and he loved it! I looked at the harnesses but the ones that a made so the don't restrict movement a very expensive so we were just running to heel.
Lavenders_Blue
That's a shame about your knee and calf, but best to rest up and keep exercise gentle to allow yourself time to heal. Indi Dog make a CaniX harness which is made to measure for £15. Might be worth a look? Hubby just took Tango on her Ezydog harness last night and she seemed to get on okay. The Dogmother
There are some good fleece lined harnesses advertised on the lurcher forum, they look very comfy.
Lavenders_Blue
Yes those fleece lined harnesses do look really comfy, but I wonder if the fleece would make the dog too hot whilst running? (Or am I just being a worry wart? )
lillybettybabs
I shall have a look at them (knee pending), I may end up making one.
The Dogmother
I don't think they get hot Vicki. A few lurcher owners use them as the soft fleece prevents any rubbing or sore bits around the front legs; lurchers have thin skin.
lillybettybabs
They look very comfy, I have a real issue with harnesses that cut straight across the shoulder, these look as if they give good movement.
The Dogmother
I've seen a few on and they look comfy Karen.

(I'm not Vicki BTW ) I do think the fleece is a good idea, when I got Tango's ezydog harness I did worry that it might rub her armpits (is that what you call it in dogs?), but the webbing seems very soft and so far, no sore spots. Might bear these in mind though for when her current harness bites the dust, although I can't see that being for some time.
The Dogmother
Sorry, not looking closely My understanding is that it prevents rubbing. I haven't used one though - we only have one harness and that's hardly used at all, only in the car if we need extra room in the boot, it is attached to a seat belt adaptor.
