Good luck to you Karen :D

I've run with my dogs before and they do it really well but I'm getting a bit dodgy in the knees these days so am playing it safe now. Rosie has recently started running but doesn't want to take the loons for some strange reason

Could you not pay the boys to take Dylan for walkies?

I have a theory about trying to wear energetic dogs out with lots of exercise - as far as I can tell they just get fitter and fitter and want even more exercise  Sometimes I wonder if my brother and sister in law who have a very overweight dog have the right idea... Maybe if I fattened Tango up she might slow down a bit! (I don't mean that by the way, I can't bear to see fat dogs). Perhaps you could take Dylan to the gym with you and stick him on the treadmill!

There's a certain amount of truth in that - while some dogs/breeds naturally have more stamina than others, they do tend to adjust... but then you (obviously) need to adjust their food accordingly. While labs have much more stamina, lurchers are content with a mad race around, then they sleep for the rest of the day.... 30mph couch potatoes

A poster on a lurcher forum i frequent was lamenting that she had to give her lurcher 2 hour walks twice a day as 'he has too much energy', part of the problem was that he was being fed on Bakers, which is known for making dogs hyper. But she was just walking and walking him and building up his stamina/expectations.... he'd have been happy with half an hour of walk and half an hour of fast running. I think she was used to other types TBH.

I'm slowly getting there with raw feeding. Freezer space is the main issue at the moment. Just got to get the garage cleared a bit more so I can get a dog freezer in there  But for the time being Tango is on one meal raw and one meal high quality kibble a day and looking great on it. Given the choice though she does prefer her food to have a pulse
