the power
After introducing my two new chickens last Sunday (who constantly hide in the eglu) one of my originals (gingernut) has decided to stop laying. She normally lays 1 a day and has only missed 1 day since she started laying a month ago. She now hasn't layed for three consecutive days. No diarorea and she seems to be eating well. Could the introduction of the new chickens have something to do with this?
cutechicky
Yes it very well could be! How old is your chicken? It may just be a coincidence. Wait for a few days and see if she starts laying again. Sometimes change/shock can affect laying. Watch them carefully for bullying too, as this could also result in less egg production.
the power
she is quite young, something like 30 weeks I think. She is definately not being bullied, quite the opposite she is top hen.
cutechicky
mmm.... I'd watch her for a little longer. Sometimes hens to miss out a day. She is after all very young. If she doesn't then she may be ill.
cutechicky
I have a strong feeling it is just because she has been introduced to new chickens. She will most definatly start laying again soon
