Sweet peas.....what to do with them?

Recommended Posts

What about putting them in a large tub with a wigwam frame and letting them climb up that?

That way you can keep them in when it's cold and stick them out when it's sunny :D

I love sweet peas. I love the fact that you have to keep cutting them so that you get more flowers!

I think I'm going to plant some :D

Thanks Cathy, I really do want them to go out in my border that I am trying to get more colour into this year (it is very green at the moment.) Can't decide whether to go for it or do a transition into big cardboard pots (which I can then move into place). I have no experience of sweet peas in this cold type of weather and if they will be alright.

Not sure exactly where you are, but there is frost forecast for some parts of the UK tonight - I would keep them in until that danger has passed, at least. Cold/rainy weather shouldn't stunt them too much though.

I planted mine out three weeks ago and they are going great guns with all this rain. Ideally harden them off for a few days before planting them out if they have been indoors but I planted some of mine out straight from the greenhouse and they have been fine.
