I had a quick search but couldn't find it, so I was wondering if the experienced Omleteers could create a shopping list of the must-haves for when people 1st get their chickens?

Good question as you do learn so much as you go along!

 

In my experience and thanks to people on here I would reccomend:

 

Mixed corn as they love it as a treat in the evenings

Meal worms - its like a drug (I have also been using earth worm treats)

Diatom - when cleaning the house - a must have to keep red mites away

Poultry shield for cleaning

and herban and ACV for the water to keep them healthy.

 

I also use for bedding in the house wood pellets that I also use as bedding for my horse - you soak it in water and it fluffs up. Very good and economical.

I use ex-batt pellets as I have ex-batts.
