Hi all,

Just a quick question regarding Hemcore.

 

Do you think that it would be ok to use Hemcore in a gerbil tank?

My sister has two gerbils and we were wondering if it would be ok for them of if the citronella scent would be too strong.

Does anyone else use it with gerbils, hamsters, mice etc? And would it be ok if they chewed and/or ate it?

 

Also, for those of you who use Hemcore in cat litter trays-does it get stuck in the carpet?

 

I'm in love with the smell of this stuff-we only got ours yesterday and I am impressed so far

We have a Hamster, Maisie, & we have tried Aubiose in her cage but she seems to prefer Sawdust.

I think the bits are a bit sharp for her little pink feet

We use Auboise for Jimbob (hamster) and it's perfect, just stays dry, clean & no animal smell in the room.

Jimbob seems quite happy with it, plus hamster bedding in his house.

I wouldnt but thats because gerbils like to dig and hemcore is not solid enough. Soil/peats whats recommended for gerbils. We used to keep all ( too many) ours in aquariums.
