mimi5
So I could hear Molly moving around and so I checked on her she was drinking but then I noticed 3 eggs where out of the nest!!!! We are on day 19!!! I quickly put them back in the nest and popped her back on. What does this mean????? I have no idea how long the eggs where out of the nest. Does Molly know something I don't????? I haven't candled them and she has been SO tight to the nest, I've been lifting once a day to do necessary things!!! I've been out for about 4 hrs. Oh dear really worried, but I quess it is warm? Any ideas anyone or a similisr experience maybe?
sjp
they should be fine as it's really hot at the moment I'd leave her to it through now as it's only 2 days to hatch day, let her zone out and get the humidity up. just put the feeder and drinker in with her put chick crumb in the feeder just check in on her 2 or 3 times a day but don't lift her of the eggs, you'll hear any chicks cheeping and you might find the broody's temperment changes to Hope went from very laid back up till Tuesday to proper protective Wednesday once the chicks had hatched puffing herself up and screaming like only broodies do P.S. they might just start to hatch tomorrow or tomorrow night
miller30
I always candle the eggs as that way at least you know the chicken is going to get something she may know the ones she chucked out are no good if you cant candle them i would just leave her to it now leanne
mimi5
Thanks for the support. Today is day 20 and I thought I'd heard the odd quiet cheep before I went to bed last night. Well there's lots of loud cheeping now. Saw molly eating some egg shell and so I assume atleast 1 of the 6 is/has hatched!! Only 5 to go! Just hope it's not as drawn out as Milly's hatch, which was over 3 days!!!!
