sadietoo
Today I picked up my ex commercial theoretical free rangers for their retirement by the sea......in view of the Jubilee celibrations we have given them royal names...Brenda, Camilla and Kate....... I will try to post photos over the weekend....they are darlings... They are in much better condition generally than I expected, although (sadly) two of the three have had their beaks trimmed and Camilla is a bit scraggy around the neck!...They were very quiet and well behaved today, tucked into their mash, and we discovered that, like all chickens ,they would sell their grandmother for a handful of mealworms I've just checked on them and they've put themselves to bed in the eglu by forming a stack, one on top of the other ...I'm looking forward to getting to know them better. As an update to a previous thread, I picked these girls up from the RSPCA in Brighton (thanks to Coppers heads up..).They had about 30 girls there still left but the good news was that they are all booked out. They did however ask me if I could take a single girl who needed to be in isolation for a while. Sadly I don't have a set up that would accomodate a girl on her own, so had to decline but felt awful. Hopefully she will find a loving home.
