Hi,

how many white campbell duck eggs fit under a speckledy hen? I purchased 6 from ebay and have reserved 6 khaki campbell eggs to collect locally. 12 is too many isn't it? Doh. What would be the perfect number? 6? 8? 10?

Hi just give her all of them you will be surprised how many they can sit on my little pekin got 10 pekin eggs under her and another got 4 turkey eggs under her goodluck leanne

Thanks, I've just seen this! I decided to go for 6 and if the hatch fails I will get some more next month if I have another broody hen. Dotty is in for a shock as she is currently sitting on a small blue araucana egg. ha ha.

 

These are eggs from ebay which arrived in the post this morning. I couldn't help pressing buy it now as they are WHITE campbell eggs. I'm only expecting a 50% hatch rate which is fine as I only want a trio of ducks. I was going to get another 6 khaki campbell eggs locally until a friend said it was too many.

 

They were in a polybox and each egg was wrapped with kitchen roll and taped down with masking tape. Can I put them under her tonight?????? I can't wait.

 

Really exited as it has taken me two years to decide to go for it!

Update. Broody hen is still sitting on the eggs. Only ten days until they hatch! (If they hatch!)
