4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

I currently have three Bantams in a Go and run. I have just ordered a Doodlehouse Max so that i can get three more Bantams. What breeds of bantams would give me blue eggs and darkish brown eggs (if any)?

Welsummers will give you dark eggs if you get the right strain (the show Welsummers dont always lay the dark eggs)

 

Cuckoo Marans bantams are far less likely to lay dark eggs than their large fowl counterparts but again if you can find a good strain you would be ok. Marans bantams to tend to be on the large side though

 

The Araucana is the only blue egg laying bantam but people do cross them with other breeds to get green egg laying bantams

I have two each of araucana bantams and cuckoo marans; the marans lay lovely, medium-dark eggs but are bigger girls.

Thanks for the info. Now its just a waiting game until the elusive doodlehouse arrives. I ordered it on the 30th May. Their website stated next day delivery but if busy could be 14 days. The lady rang me and said it would be delivered Tuesday or Thursday last week. Stayed in all day and nothing arrived. Contacted her and she said she had sent me an email to say sorry but will now be next week definately Tuesday or Wednesday. Nothing arrived Tuesday - she assures me it will be here today - why don't I believe her?

A supplier near me was looking into stocking those and gave up after no end of problems and quality issues.

Thanks for that Dogmother. I have yet again sat in and waited all day for the promised delivery. I have just fired off an email telling them if it doesnt arrive today i want a full refund by the end of business tomorrow or I am involving Trading Standards. I knew I should have just ordered a Cube - which i was going to do originally but the doodlehouse looked so pretty.
