Just keeping us company?

Recommended Posts

The sun actually came out today :D so I insisted we sat and had our pre dinner drinks outside, even though it was a bit breezy! All the girls came and sat with us, 3 snoozing under the patio table, one of them perching on the legs. (Hattie the cat sunbathed on top of the table!) no treats were involved, and it isn't the first time they've done this, but it occurred to me that they might just be enjoying our company....or am I completely mad? Treats aside do your girls come and spend quality time with you sometimes, rather than the other way round?

We often let ours out in the evening and they follow us / scratch around near where we're sitting. tbh I think they associate us with treats whether we've got them or not. The dog joins their 'flock' and cleans up after them - disgusting hound ...

Really funny yesterday 'cos he was lying down with his chew and Pickled (Cream Legbar) flew over him, closely followed by Nest Egg, who being rather less 'aerodynamic' (Light Sussex), didn't quite make it and landed on his back. I'm not sure who was the most surprised !!

Yes ours love being near us and we ve only had them for a month, in fact 2 of them for a week. I was sitting cross legged reading a magazine in the week and our araucana startled me by jumping onto my shoulder where she settled for about 30 seconds! The pekins are very skittish but all sit as near as possible :D

We like to think they enjoy our company as we do theirs. Although today has been weird as we lost our first one yesterday & miss her like crazy as she was always the first to run & see us. Sotoday we have all stuck together up the garden, down the garden, on the patio they were always sat next to us. Rather touching really.
