Purplemaniacs
I have used my phone to ring and text this morning but it will not do anything now, it is on the text screen but I can't type in and I can't get back to any other screen. Any ideas? Thanks, Chrissie
stu
I have a Blackberry, and it's always 'hanging'... I usually pull the battery and restart it that way. Hope this helps.
Purplemaniacs
It has never happened to mine before. Will I lose all the stuff I have saved on it, dates contact numbers and things if I remove the battery? Thanks.
stu
No.. it will keep all the stored information, not unlike a windows OS... you might lose the text you were writing, but nothing else should be effected. Try to press and hold the power button for a few seconds first, but if your keys are locked out... the battery will solve it. It'll do a full power up. Make sure you know your access pin, if you have one set...
Purplemaniacs
Thanks Stu, it seems to have switched itself off and then on and is now ok. Do they do updates or something Thanks for your help. Chrissie
stu
They do firmware updates and such through the Blackberry Manager software. I don't use it though, because it always messes up my handset. They're not my favoured personal phones really, but usually very reliable. I expect this is just a blip rather than a need to update anything. Chucky Mama
I would make sure that you download the blackberry manager to your computer and then do a backup. That way if anything goes wrong you can restore the backup. This makes sure that you don't loose your contacts. I used to do a backup every month or so just in case.
