chickchick2012
Just a quick question please....... how long does everyone leave their layers pellets in the Omlet Grub. Not sure if it goes off, do I leave it till it's all eaten or do I throw it away after so many days. Seems such a waste to chuck it out but I don't want to poison them!!! (I take it out at night so as not to encourage vermin). The problem is, I need to put quite a lot in as one of my bantams is really small and she has a job to get her head really low to reach the food, so consequently the Grub has to be quite full. (Could probably do with a miniture Grub if they made one!!!!!!) Thanks everyone x
hopingforchickens
I usually fill it with the recommended amount per hen, per week. If that's not enough to fill it, or she's struggling later on in the week, could you put something under the pellets to create a false bottom so she can reach the food? Or have a separate traditional feeder as well?
jackian
I put a large stone by mine as a stepping stone and my little one Rosie manages easy.
Patricia W
My gannets (7 of them) polish it all off within a week - or sometimes less.
chickchick2012
Thanks Jackian - I'm going to try the stepping stone as it's probably the easiest thing to do. Thanks everyone - the forum is just brilliant!!!!!! xx
