HennyPenny
We've got a bumper crop of white and redcurrants at the moment and I'm struggling to find any recipes to use them in! Can anyone help? They're really fiddly to harvest, so this may well be their last year (they came with the garden) but it seems such a shame to waste them. Richard sent me a link to some lovely recipes on the Waitrose site when I was off work but I didn't print them out and the link doesn't work since they updated their website Many thanks! PS Just about to make my first ever batch of gooseberry jam - I'm so excited!! Any hints for that would be appreciated too!
kannie
Redcurrants are just wonderful with cream and a sprinkling of sugar, or fantastic in summer pudding. I have a great gooseberry cake recipe somewhere, which I've also made with redcurrants. Will look it out for you shortly, but my dinners being served now!! Lesley
Redcurrant jelly - time consuming but well worth it. We eat ours dipped in sugar - whitecurrants are usually sweeter and don't need the sugar.
