Any down sides to omlet WIR before I press pay?

Recommended Posts

We are relocating the cube to a new permanent site in the garden and as the Omlet WIR is on offer I am so so tempted, hubby is quite happy to make bigger concrete base and I use hard wood chippings.

But my extended cube run is completely dry (tarpaulins) so could do the same with the WIR I suppose, being silkies they like to be dry. So has anyone found any disadvantages when they changed or regretted it. I am really happy with my setup at the moment except crawling in for cleaning and I am not getting any younger.

Thoughts appreciated.

I love mine - if I look at any negatives it is:

The door - I'm 5' 10" and crack my head virtually every time - must remember to duck!

The door bolts have rusted and worn off the plastic coating

Its a pretty solid construction and I have mine tarpaulined. In winter though heavy snow needs to be swept off as soon as. It held up fine last year but not sure it would have taken the load the year before when it was nearly a foot thick!

Other than that - can't really think of anything - I'm just considering getting another meter - I already have a 3 metre run plus cube run.

The only thing I would really like is a shorter cube run or a facility to attach cube directly to WIR so that I don't need to crawl on hands on hands and knees to clean area under cube and its attached run. I bought the whole set up to save my dodgy back but this is the only pain.

Hi, many thanks for that, it was very helpful and I have just done the deed and put my order in. Like you I want it to save my back and crawling in the run, would have liked to attached the cube directly to it as well but still think it will be easier. I will bear in mind about the snow as well, thats a good point.
