counturchickens
We've finally got our huge garden but there is a lot to do! We have inherited a quite large peach tree. Many of the branches are bald, with leaves starting 2 3rds of the way up. Apparently it has never fruited which I'm not too worried about, but it looks a bit tatty. Is it worth pruning it to see if it will rejuvenate, or is it too late?
mollyripkim
Congratulations on your new garden, sorry don't know much about peach trees, I did have a patio one in a pot for years which fruited well but lost it whilst as it didnt get watered whilst we were away one year. If yours is tatty I don't suppose it will do any harm to prune it.
sjp
they can be pruned but I think they haved to be pruned in the summer they same as plums and cherries .I also think that they don't regrow from old wood as for fruiting because they flower early they need hand pollenating which used to be done with a rabbits tail but a small artist paint brush with naturally bristtles dose the job
