Mrs_B
I have had a lot of stress with my chickens since I had them, and our Columbine (Pebble) who hadn't laid and was bottom of the pecking order was being pecked and other chickens were pulling her lovely feathers out! But I seem to have this under control as I had separated them...I just wanted a bit of goodness with the chooks and especially with little (I say little as she hasn't grown too much as a pullet) Pebble as she is secretely my favourite Well when I went to the poultry farm yesterday, my mother called to say that Pebble was on the nest and she had laid an egg finally!! I was so excited, I could not hide my happiness. The next question was what colour egg did she lay? Well when I got home I saw a beautiful blue egg still on the nest box I am so so happy that I thought you wouldn't mind if I shared the news with a photo!! x
mimi5
Ah lovely!! First eggs are always special and a blue one to boot!!! I'm hopping to add 2 bantam aruacana's to my pekin gang, as I had wanted some originally but couldn't find any near me (Waiting to hear back for the breeder as to when) Something a bit special about a blue egg in the nestbox?! Oh and I've read that the blue eggs are lower in cholesterol apparently!! Enjoy!!
