craftyhunnypie
I'm off to candle in a minute - all 21 eggs. I might be a while. O.k...half an hour almost later.... I have 14 eggs doing well, have discarded 7 eggs. All infertile, plus one with a blood ring. So I now have 6 Gold Laced Polish, 3 Millefleur Barbu d'uccle, 3 Lavender barbu d'anvers & 2 silkies to look forward to. Emma.x
Purplemaniacs
Our first incy eggs we had 28 to begin with as some may not have been fertile and it took ages but we were new to it, but the excitment was amazing! We had one ring too. Good luck with the 14 Chrissie
craftyhunnypie
Out of them all - I'm praying the silkies hatch - as they are from our own stock. But we are looking forward to them all. Emma.x
Purplemaniacs
How exciting, I have fallen in love with silkies since Tunble arrived. I am hoping if the silkies of the last hatch are girls to have some home grown chicks next year. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your silkie eggs. craftyhunnypie
Have been getting brooder ready etc. Eggs stop turning Monday night, so hatching could be anytime from then onwards. Thought I'd get organised. Emma.x
Purplemaniacs
How exciting, you are very organised. I am excited tonight one of my first ever hatchlings has laid an egg Chrissie
craftyhunnypie
All set up & ready for countdown, which begins after about 10.30pm tomorrow night ( that's when turning stops). Best get my camera charged up, as I know how much you all like chick pictures. Emma.x
craftyhunnypie
turning switched off - temperature 37 & humidity increased to 65% tonight. I also remove the egg separator bars & put in some non slip matting. When put the eggs back in the incy, a few of them didn't want to lay still. They rolled about. One of the polish is still wiggling. For some reason I'd told myself that I had Gold laced polish - they aren't they are Silver laced...even better!!! So waiting on.. 6 Silver laced Polish 3 Millefleur Barbu D'uccle 3 Lavender Barbu D'anver 2 Silkie eggs ( cockerel gold, girls white) Fingers crossed. I love this bit now - waiting & looking for that first pip. Emma.x

craftyhunnypie
So far we have 3 out of 3 Millefleur Barbu d'uccles hatched, 1 Lavender Barbu d'anver & 1 Silver laced Polish hatched. Plus 3 more Polish eggs pipped. The duccles have such feathery feet! The Lavender d'anver is very bossy! Pics later when they have recovered & gained their energy back from hatching. craftyhunnypie
I got a total of 9 chicks. 3 Millefleur Barbu d'uccle 5 Silver laced polish & 1 Lavender Barbu d'anver, who is so small that I've named it Titch. The other eggs never hatched - but I'm very thrilled with those that did. Emma.x
craftyhunnypie
One of the polish is a frizzle - but it doesn't look like a silver laced. I think it could be a creole, as the person I bought from, also kept those. Time will tell. Titch, the lavender barbu d'anver is just soooo cute. It has to have it's own food pot, as it just can't rech the others food pot. They are all so lovely! Emma.x
craftyhunnypie
The chicks are growing & the Polish are getting some lacing & brilliant hairdo's. Little 'Titch' is still tiny & one of my favourites! I've found I've got 2 Frizzle polish - their wings really look like they will take off. A lot more so than my frizzle pekins usually look. Blimey - 9 chicks growing quickly & 12 eggs in the incy. Emma.x
Redwing
Brilliant. Congratulations. I love D'anver chicks they are so characterful and surprisingly sturdy My inccy is empty
Purplemaniacs
Blimey - 9 chicks growing quickly & 12 eggs in the incy. Emma.x Wow how exciting. I hope the ones in the incy hatch The 4 I hatched 6 weeks ago are growing fast, the 3 mini silkies are very lively, the little Dutch I think is lonely, she is much quieter and seems to be a very laid back, as she is the only one I don't know if this normal for a Dutch or if she would be different if she had another Dutch friend. craftyhunnypie
Well little Titch the Lavender Barbu D'anver is very full of character! It really tickles me how it tries to be look big like all it's friends ( barbu d'uccles & Polish) It also makes me giggle how it tries, but can't get on top of the electric hen for daily flying practice. Oh & it runs like an ostrich when I put it out on the floor. Such a funny but cute little chick. No matter what ' Titch' is it's staying!!! The Polish are really starting to change. The hairdo's are all coming on nicely now. The dander & chick fluff is coming out & the head gear feathers are starting. One of the frizzles has a bald patch like Frair Tuck! I love all the chicks, but the Polish seem the friendliest by far when handled. They just stand there waiting to be picked up. The Millefleur Barbu d'uccles are beautiful. I can't believe the size of the feathers above their feet. They are like a second pair of wings. I'm sure they are all going to turn out lovely. We did have a chick cam on them, but it has broken. Will try & get a new one to have on them, will be handy for watching the cock a doodle doo suspects in a few weeks time. Emma.x
