Has anyone else got email from paralympics with wrong event?

Recommended Posts

I applied for closing ceremony tickets but didn't get any however I just got the following email

' Important update from London 2012

DearPatricia,

We are writing to let you know that the Olympic Park will close early on 9 September in preparation for the Closing Ceremony.

When arriving for your 7-a-side Football event on 9 September, bear in mind that Victoria Gate will be closed for entry from 2pm. You can find further details of gate closures on the London 2012 website

Due to the late finish of your 7-a-side Football event, we suggest you stay inside the Olympic Park after your event to wait for the Closing Ceremony ....'

The help on the web site only got to a FAQ section. I'll have to go back through credit card bills to see if they charged me for the tickets but it was so long ago I can't even remember what card I used (visa doesn't narrow it down enough  ) this is the first thing I've received mentioning these events. I got my other tickets through the post.

Not really sure where to go for help, if I've paid for the tickets I still want to go but without tickets it will be difficult.

Arggh I remembered I had an ticket account, so I just logged into it only to find it lists 2 events, one that I attended but doesn't list the other I attended and it lists the closing ceromony which I was told at the time I hadn't got tickets. The email mentioned the football on the same day that I didn't request tickets for.

Very annoyingly I was in London for a meeting yesterday and could have gone along to a box office to try and straighten this out. So I could go in on Sat and pay for train for just me, or we take a chance and all go in on Sunday without being sure whether we have tickets and maybe pay for 4 train tickets for no reason.

Best ring the bank and find out what has been charged to the card (and when).

I've got that email too and I've not bought tickets for Sunday. I think it's probably gone out to everyone registered

I got hopeful as I had requested closing ceremony tickets originally :(

just make sure it isn't a scam email.

Sound advice there's so many scams but it's from the same email address as the emails I got about the events I did attend and didn't ask me to input any details.

I did eventually find how to send an email to customer services (they hid it well) and to my surprise they have answered and said it was a mistake so no tickets  I suspect they have hidden the link to send them email so well they are not too overwhelmed
