christyrose12 Posted October 22, 2012 Share Posted October 22, 2012 I picked up my new chickens yesterday. I have 2 that are 24 weeks and 1 that is 12 weeks. I have got layers pellets for them. Purplemaniacs Posted October 22, 2012 Share Posted October 22, 2012 Welcome to the forum I would feed them growers pellets not layers as the young one is too young to be on layers and the growers pellets will be ok for the older ones. Redwing Posted October 22, 2012 Share Posted October 22, 2012 Feed them all growers pellets for now If the youngest is a pure breed keep her on growers till the spring, she will need all the help she can get with growing during the darker, colder months (thats why ideally chicks are hatched in March, April time so they have the benefit of long daylight hours to grow optimumly) If she is a hybrid put her on growers around the 18 week mark as they mature so much quicker Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
